The most wanted big mountain lines in Jackson Hole are in Storm Show’s 2012 ski/ride/A+dream-a-line film, “Most Wanted”. New to the line-up this year, veteran Storm Show producer Darrell Miller has teamed up with Full Room Productions’ Ryan Halverson, bringing you more hard-hitting, action-packed, gnar-shredding from the Jackson Hole backcountry. The usual suspects are joined by some new bloods, showing us why they’re among the best riders in the West, and proving that there’s never a bad snow year in Jackson Hole!
Highlights include: Jason Elms and crew exploring deeper into the Wind River Range, another dream day out on the North Shore, unbelievable avalanche footage, Travis McAlpine and crew heading north to find the goods in Alaska, and of course all your classic Jackson backcountry lines being skied hard at “low tide”.
Hold onto your hat and get your ski-flick fix with Jackson Hole’s premiere ski film production of “Most Wanted”!

Jared Rogers, aka Axe Murderer, at "base camp."
Ahhhh, spring time, almost my favorite time of year! Hiking for big lines in a t-shirt, bluebird days and buttery smooth corn turns. A favorite zone of mine is deep in the Gross Ventures Range, on the eastern side of JH. On May 6-10, 2012, cohort rider/snowshoer Jared Rogers and I set up “base camp” and prepared for what was to come. Whiskey and mints were involved in the preparation…

Probable 4th descent of King Couloir, Peak 10,408, on May 7, 2012. This is a northwest facing line. Probable 1st, 2nd, and 3rd descents by D.Miller in 2007, 2009, & 2011
The plan was to pick off a couple of gorgeous lines deep in the range: King Couloir and the yet-to-be-named Behemoth Face. We anticipated much suffering along the way. For reasons of accessibility, distance from “base camp”, pantshitting exposure, variable snow conditions, etc., these lines may or may not have been ridden/skied before, EVER. I’ve travelled & scoped these zones every season for 15 straight years, and have yet to see or hear of anyone attempting these lines in the GV. Here are some photos from the trip, hopefully these wets your whistle! See the whole show in Storm Show’s 2012 ski/ride/adrenaline film, stay tuned for details!

D.Miller en route to King Couloir. May 7, 2012. Named after cohort Jason King who accompanied D.MIller on the probable 1st descent in May 2007

Probable 1st descent of Behemoth Face, unnamed peak, south of Gros Peak. May 9, 2012, D.Miller & Jared Rogers. 13 hour/ 20mile roundtrip from base camp...

Behemoth Face... A mix between the Middle Teton and NoName East Ridge, pantshitting steepness and good bit of exposure to keep you on yer toes...

The 1st place Gold Medal went to Brain Farm Media, Travis Rice’s and Curt Morgan’s Brainchild which has produced multi-million dollar budget films in association with RedBull Media House.
Miller had this to say of the award: “It’s a huge honor to have received this award from the local JH community for ‘Best Filmmaker.’ Not knowing that I was even nominated gave the award that much more meaning. As always, competition is fierce in the ski film community, nationally and internationally. To have received this award above so many other super-qualified and big-budget filmmakers is a humbling experience. Thank you Jackson Hole! Keep pointing that shit!”

To show our thanks for the coveted Silver Medal, we’re offering 2 for 1 video purchases for short period of time! Use the code “BEST OF 2012″ at checkout.

“Action Jackson” the Movie…
Storm Show’s 2011 ski/ride adrenaline film promises to be its most adventurous undertaking to date. The record books were shattered with over 700 inches of snowfall having blasted the Teton Range of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. As to be expected, big lines go down one after another, guys & girls alike… On display is the deepest of deep that will make your pants soggy, and massive cliff hucking that you can watch safely from your couch.
Highlights include Jeff Leger’s legendary 80 foot swan dives, and Adam Osgood’s 100 foot double-front flips… Also in the running is Derek Depiero’s first un-roped descent of Birdbrain Couloir in the Jackson Hole backcountry, and Travis McAlpine & Darrell Miller’s first descent of the disgustingly exposed Nomad Couloir. Yes, 2011 was one for the record books, and Action Jackson is the ski film that proves it…Epic! ![]()
First question…what the hell does that mean? Top films? What is a top film? Does that mean the best films? Does that mean the most influential films? Is that on a relative basis or an absolute basis? Does that include snowboard films? Documentaries? Hollywood films? How about all those ski comedies? What about films that weren’t that great, but hit you at a certain time in life that made them special for you? There are a lot of variables and by changing one or two the list likely look completelydifferent. And who the hell are we to determine the top films anyway?
So here’s the dileo? Over the last couple of years, we have enlisted some of the smartest people in the ski and snowboard industry and asked them to rank their top ski and snowboard films. Our directions were just that…there really weren’t any. We didn’t say “best” or “most influential” or anything else…just “top.” Just pick your top films and rank them. We then took their results, blended them together and tallied the results. All in all over 50 people’s input was factored into the calculation. Thanks to some of those smarty panters who helped over the last couple years:
Shane McConkey, Ingrid Backstrom, Sara Mancuso, Daron Rahlves, Nick Waggoner, Rick Moulton, Matt Berkowitz, Rob Bondurant, Julian Carr, Derek Taylor, JT Holmes, Mike Douglas, Chris Anthony, Jon Rucker ,Silas Wright ,Mike Steen, Ralph Backstrom, Porters Tahoe, Barb Sanders ,Johnny Lazzareschi, Peter Kray, Mike Jacquet, Scott Gaffney, Kristi Leskinen, Mike Hattrupt, Kasey Wiese, Brad Farmer, Anna Biggs, Darrell Miller, Jon Spiris

Darrell got his drink on with Robert Cocuzzo with the good folks at The Mountain Pulse.
“…He takes a swig of his beer and continues, “We are all just focused on big mountains, powder, and natural features; we are not building kickers. We are not doing things that the mountain doesn’t already provide…”
